Navigating your teen’s mental health can feel overwhelming.
You are not alone on this journey.
As a parent, watching your teen struggle with anxiety, social pressures, or unhealthy habits can be heartbreaking. It’s an emotional journey that often leaves you feeling helpless, wishing for a way to guide them back toward connection and confidence.
At times in our lives, we can feel stuck—whether it's from a breakup, a divorce, a friend moving away, a devastating loss, a sibling leaving for college, or debilitating anxiety that feels like it's always been there from the start.
Movement, community, therapy, and trauma-informed care could be exactly what your teen needs to break free from the symptoms of anxiety and depression and move forward triumphantly towards their dreams and goals.
At Found Again Counseling’s Teen Climb Group, we provide an innovative solution: therapeutic rock climbing therapy. Led by a pre-licensed professional clinical counselor. Our program also offers unique supplemental therapeutic packages, including individual sessions and family sessions, to support skill development, communication, and emotional growth in a more intensive format.
At the foundational level, the program combines adventure with emotional growth, helping your teen develop resilience while forging meaningful connections with peers in a supportive environment. Imagine your child stepping down from that climbing wall, filled with newfound confidence, ready to face life’s challenges head-on.
Help Your Teen Reset Their Brain and Reduce Stress
In today's fast-paced world, teens are often overwhelmed by constant notifications, academic pressure, and social media, leaving them in a perpetual “fight-or-flight” state. But there’s a powerful remedy: climbing and movement-based activities in nature.
Research by Gregory N. Bratman shows that just 50 minutes of walking in a natural environment can dramatically decrease anxiety, rumination, and negative emotions, while enhancing working memory and maintaining a positive mood compared to urban settings.
Emerging neuroscience from Quentela Do Carmo reveals that time in nature positively impacts the prefrontal cortex, the brain region responsible for attention, planning, decision-making, and self-control. This helps teens feel calm yet mentally alert.
Climbing uniquely combines multiple protective factors: physical movement, outdoor exposure, problem-solving, healthy risk-taking, and supportive social connection. A study by Karoline Luttenberger found that climbing programs significantly reduced depressive symptoms after just eight weeks of regular sessions.
Together, these findings position climbing and movement as evidence-based tools that help teenagers lower stress, improve mood, strengthen focus, and build resilience in an increasingly overstimulating world
